Tuesday Evening

Monday we had meetings with different churches in the Western Cape region about Celebrate Recovery. We learned a lot about the issues they face and it really helped us understand their cultural challenges as we go forward with teaching CR to other churches in South Africa. We heard many stories of changed lives through CR.

We stayed in Cape Town Monday evening and did some sightseeing Tuesday morning, we were fortunate to get to take the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. The view was amazing!! And we met some Americans from Orange County, it is a small world.
Tuesday afternoon we flew back to Johannesburg and we are settled into our guest house preparing for a CR seminar tomorrow for existing CRs in the Johannesburg area.

Please pray for the meetings tomorrow and Thursday that we speak the words that God gives us and we are able to support and encourage their CR ministries. Pray for open hearts for the CR introduction seminar on Thursday for new churches interested in starting CR.

  1. Wow, it sounds like God is really working in the South Africa area through you! You are His hands and feet and are doing what you were each "gifted for" - to spread the hope that can only come from a loving, gracious and merciful Father!

Thank you for all you are doing and for “laying the groundwork” for those who will follow you on future missionary journeys to South Africa.

Keep doing what you do so well, being faithful to God's call, being obedient to God's Word, and for being open to how God can use you!

Praying for each of you and for the meeting tomorrow, that hearts would be getting prepared for the way that the Holy Spirit speaks through each of you (a.k.a. - "the Muppets")! That your words would be Spirit-given and Spirit-delivered, and that their eyes would be opened to the way that God can provide healing to the hurting!

Armor Up - Satan does not want you there and he is looking for an unarmored person to attack! We are praying that you will each be fitted properly with God’s Armor and that you will be able to withstand any attack that Satan will throw your way. Then, when all is said and done, you will be standing firm in God's mighty army!

God bless each of you in all you "get to" do this day and throughout the rest of your journey!

  2. I forgot to enter the scripture verses that I was reading through today from my daily devotional called "Jesus Calling"...

Psalm 5:11-12 "But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. Surely, Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a sheild."

  3. Charlie and I are praying for safe travel as you all head home, and that your transition back to OC goes very smoothly. You have done great work for the Lord, and your dedication to helping plant a church in Joburg is awesome. God bless you, and we'll see you on Tuesday.
